What is Vaping Vocab?

It’s always better to be in the know, right? 

You’ve probably already realised that vaping comes with its own vocabulary. We would hate for you to feel like you’re in the dark when it comes to the all the lingo – so we have put together this quick and easy guide to the vocabulary of vaping. 

Vape Meaning (Just in case!)

Ok, we will cover the absolute basics first. Vaping is the act of inhaling vapour produced from a special vape device or an e- cigarette.

Aerosol

This is the cloud of vapour (vaporised eLiquid) that is inhaled from a vaping device and then exhaled by the vaper.

Atomiser

The core of any vaping device that converts the eLiquid into fine vapour droplets which can be inhaled. 

Concentration

In vaping, when we talk about the concentration, this is usually to describe how much nicotine is in an eLiquid.

Dry Hit

This happens when there is no eLiquid left in your device to vaporise. Don’t be sad, this means it’s time to change the flavour cartridge so you can keep enjoying your Vuse and maybe try another delicious flavour.

eLiquid

The liquids placed into your device so you can vape. Our eLiquids are made using propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerine (VG), which are both pharmaceutical grade. Keep going and you can read more about (PG) and (VG).

Lithium-Ion

Nicotine

Nicotine occurs naturally in several plant varieties but is found at the highest level in the tobacco plant. We only use pharmaceutical grade nicotine in our products.

Nicotine Salts

Nicotine salts are primarily found in the leaves of the tobacco plant, where nicotine exists in salt form. These nicotine salts that are available in tobacco have been recreated in eLiquids through the addition of a special ingredient to the nicotine containing eLiquid formulation, which reacts with the nicotine to form a nicotine salt.

Pharmaceutical Grade

A phrase used to describe an ingredient that’s 99% pure.

Propylene Glycol (PG)

One of the two key ingredients in eLiquid. It’s colourless, clear and almost odourless. It’s ‘Generally recognised as safe’ (GRAS) according to the United States Food and Drug Administration. Vuse only use pharmaceutical grade propylene glycol in our products.

Vegetable Glycerine (VG)
